Experience

FAM Workforce Housing is led by Brian Lash, An entrepreneur and operator who fundamentally redefined workforce housing at scale. Over a 35+ year career spanning hospitality, logistics, and workforce accommodations, Brian built and operated projects across North America and internationally that have supported more than 25 million man-nights.

As founder, CEO, and Chairman of Target Hospitality, Brian disrupted a sector historically defined by low quality, operational risk, and workforce attrition. He introduced five-star hospitality standards into industrial workforce housing, proving that comfort, security, and operational discipline directly improve labor productivity, retention, and project outcomes.

Under his leadership, workforce housing solutions supported:

  • Major energy, mining and infrastructure operators including Hess, Halliburton, Freeport-McMoRan, Kiewit, ConocoPhillips, Schlumberger, and others.

  • U.S. government agencies including FEMA, DHS, ICE, the Department of Defense, and NATO.

  • Large-scale, time-critical deployments housing thousands of guests, workers and security often in remote and logistically challenging environments for multiple Olympic Games, special events like the 95th and 100th Anniversaries of Harley Davidson, and the 25th and 30th reunions of Woodstock.

Brian’s track record is not theoretical. It is built on repeatable execution, operational rigor, and measurable results delivered on budget and on time and exceeding customer expectations.

FAM Workforce Housing specializes in delivering fully operational workforce housing  on compressed timelines without sacrificing reliability or quality.

Our team has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to:

  • Deliver initial occupancy in as little as 75–100 days from contract execution

  • Expand facilities from several hundred to more than 2,000 rooms while remaining fully operational.

  • Design self-contained campuses with integrated dining, recreation, utilities, and power redundancy.

  • Maintain continuous operations in extreme climates through resilient design and contingency planning.

This execution model is designed for projects where schedule certainty and workforce stability are critical to overall success.

Operating Philosophy

FAM approaches workforce housing as essential project infrastructure, not temporary lodging. Every facility is designed and operated around one core objective: returning workers to their job site each day rested, well fed, and ready to perform. This philosophy resulted in the introduction of higher hospitality standards, disciplined site policies, and environments that promote recovery, safety, and productivity.

Key elements include:

  • Private, single-occupancy accommodations with high-quality bedding.

  • Professional food service using fresh ingredients and consistent standards.

  • Fitness, recreation, and common spaces that support physical and mental recovery.

  • Clear conduct, safety, and security policies that protect both workers and clients.

  • Flexible layouts that allow facilities to scale with project demand.

The result is improved retention, increased productivity on job sites, and more predictable project execution.
